Dua'a During Wudhu

When his eyes fall on water:
I begin my ablution in the Name of Allah. All praise is due to Allah, Who made water purifying, and not najis.

Bismillahi wa billahi wal hamdu lil lahil lazi ja'alal ma'a tahura wa lam yaj alhu najisa.

While washing the hands before performing Wudhu, one should say:
O Lord! Make me of those who repent and purify themselves.

Alla hummaj alni minat tawwabina waj alni minal mutatah hirin.

While rinsing the mouth one should say:
O Lord! Dictate to me the principles of faith on the Day I meet You, and make my tongue fluent with Your remembrance.

Alla Humma laq qini hujjati yawma alqaka wa atliq lisani bizikrika.

While washing the nose one should say:
O Lord! Do not deprive me of the fragrance of Paradise, and make me of those who smell its fragrance and per fume.

Alla humma la tuharrim 'alaya rihal jannati waj 'alni mim man yashummu riha ha wa rawha ha wa tiba ha.

While washing the face, one should say:
O Lord! Make my face bright on the Day when the faces will turn dark. Do not darken my face on the Day when the face s are bright.

Alla humma bayyiz wajhi yawma taswaddufihil wujuh wala tusawwid waj hi yawma tabyazzul wujuh.

While pouring water over the right elbow, one should say:
O Lord! Give my book of deeds in my right hand, and a permanent stay in Paradise on my left, and make my reckoning an easy one.

Alla humma a'tini kitabi bi yamini wal khulda fil jinani bi yasari wa hasibni hisaban yasira.

While pouring water over the left elbow, one should say:
O Lord! Do not give my book of deeds in my left hand, n or from behind my back, nor chain it to my neck. I seek refuge in You from the Hell-fire.

Alla humma la tutini kitabi bishimali wala min wara'i zahri wala taj alha maghlu latan ila unuqi wa a'uzu bika min muqat ta'atin niran.

While performing the wiping of the head, one should say:
O Lord! Cover me with Your Mercy, Blessings and Forgiveness.

Alla humma ghashshini bi rahmatika wa barakatika wa 'afwika.

While performing the wiping of the feet, one should say:
O Lord! Keep me firm on the Bridge (to Paradise) on the Day when the feet will slip, and help me in my efforts to do things which will please You, O' Glorious and Mighty!.

Alla humma thabbitni alas sirati yawma tazillu fihil aqdam. Waj'al sa'yi fi ma yurzika 'anni ya zal jalali wal ikram.

STAYING IN THE STATE OF WODHOO

‘Ablution is half of faith.’The Prophet (SAWA) [Bihar al-Anwar,   v. 80, p. 238, no. 12

‘He who renews his ablution without [the need
to do so to purify] an impurity, Allah renews his repentance without him
   [needing to] asking for forgiveness.’
 Imam al-Sadiq (AS) [Wasael al-Shi`aah , v. 1, p. 264, no.7

‘He who performs ablution whilst already in a
state of purity is given ten good merits.’
The Prophet (SAWA) [Kanz al-`Ummal, no. 26042

‘He who performs the ablution in the freezing cold weather is given twice the reward, and he who performs the ablution
in the extreme heat is given a single share of the reward.’
Kanz al-`Ummal, no. 26059

‘When the Muslim man performs the ablution,
mistakes committed by his hearing, his sight, his hands and his feet leave him so that when he sits, he sits forgiven.’

‘When the servant performs the ablution, his sins shed away from him just as leaves shed from a tree.’

From the book titled  وتذكرة الصالحين ذخيرة المؤمنين Thakheerat al-Mu’mineen wa Tathkirat al-Saliheen by Sayyid Mujtaba al-Suwaij. We solicit your supplications. Translated by Br Yasin Jibouti
Perform ablution according to the way it is performed by Muhammed and the Progeny of Muhammed, Allah’s peace and blessings with him and with them all.
I seek refuge with Allah, the Hearing, the Knowing, from Satan the Accursed, the best to say is “In the Name of Allah, the most Gracious, the most Merciful.”
There is no god save Allah; Muhammed is the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah with him and with his Progeny, Ali i surely an obedient servant of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah with him; Fatima is the one chosen by Allah (for honors), peace with her; al-Hassan and al-Hussain are loved by Allah, peace with them both; may Allah inflict His curse on those who hate them, those who hate the Progeny of Muhammed, Allah’s peace and blessings with him and with his Progeny. Peace with the Progeny of Ya-Sin; Allah blesses Muhammed and the Progeny of Muhammed, and may He speed up their ease, and may He curse their enemies.
Below are the verbs and statements relevant to ablution (wudu’), the one performed by the Commander of the Faithful Ali, peace with him:
Allah Almighty has said,O you who believe! When you prepare for prayer, wash your faces, and your hands (and arms) to the elbows; rub your heads (with water), and (wash) your feet to the ankles (Qur’an, 5:6).
First, you make the intention that you are going to perform the ablution seeking nearness to Allah Almighty saying, “In the Name of Allah, the most Gracious, the most Merciful.” Our master al-Hussain, the lantern of guidance and the boat of salvation, peace with him, has said, “One who performs ablution, mentioning the Name of Allah, his entire body becomes tahir (cleansed of impurities), and from the time he performs the ablution to the time when he repeats it, his sins will be forgiven. If one does not pronounce this Basmala, he will be purifying of his body only wherever water touches it.” You should say, “Peace with the Progeny of Ya-Sin.” Our master, the Hujja (proof of the mercy of Allah) from among the Progeny of Muhammed, Allah’s peace and blessings with him and with his Progeny, has said, “If you wish we intercede on your behalf with Allah Almighty, and with our own selves, you should say just as Allah Almighty has said: Salaam `ala Aali-Ya-Sin (peace with the Progeny of Ya-Sin).”
  1. Washing the hands, which is highly commendable: Once you see water, you should say, “In the Name of Allah, the most Gracious, the most Merciful; praise belongs to Allah Who has made water a means of purification; He has made Islam a light and did not make it unclean.” When you wash, you should say, “O Allah! Count me among those whose repentance You accept, and count me among those who seek to purify themselves.”
  2. Washing the mouth (gargling), which is also highly commendable: You should say: “O Allah! Inspire me to pronounce my argument on the Day when I shall meet You [at the time of death], and let my tongue be free mentioning and lauding You.”
  3. Inhalation, the drawing of water into the nostrils, which is also highly commendable: You should say: “O Allah! Do not prohibit me from inhaling the fragrance of Paradise; let me be among those who smell its fragrance, its air, its perfume, its aromas.”
  4. Washing the face, which is obligatory, from the area where hair grows up to the bottom of the chin, the index and middle fingers, and it is highly commendable to say: “O Allah! Whiten my face on the day when faces are white, and do not blacken my face on the Day when faces become black. O Allah! Whiten my face on the day when faces become black, and do not blacken my face on the Day when faces become white.”
  5. Washing the right hand, which is obligatory, from the elbow to the fingertips: It is highly commendable to say: “O Allah! Give me my book in my right hand, and in my left hand give me eternity in the Gardens, and do judge me easily.”
  6. Washing the left hand, which is obligatory, from the elbow to the fingertips: It is highly commendable to say the following when you do it: “O Allah! Do not give me my book in my left hand, nor behind my back, and do not let it be tied to my neck, and I seek refuge with You against the patches of the Fires.”
  7. Washing the front part of the head with the right hand which is wet from ablution’s water, which is also mandatory: It is highly commendable to say the following when you do it: “O Allah! Overwhelm me with Your mercy, blessings, forgiveness and healing from afflictions.”
  8. Rubbing the outside of the right foot from the fingertips to the connector with the remaining wetness of the right hand, which is obligatory: It is highly commendable to say the following as you do it: “O Allah! Keep my feet firm on the Straight Path on the Day when feet slip away, render my deeds appreciated in whatever pleases You with me, O One with the Honor and Greatness.”
  9. Rubbing the outside of the left foot from the fingertips with the wetness of the left hand, which is obligatory: It is highly commendable to say the following when you do it: “O Allah! Keep my feet firm on the Straight Path on the Day when feet slip away, render my deeds appreciated in whatever pleases You with me, O One with the Honor and Greatness.
The Commander of the Faithful, peace with him, has said, “If one performs his ablution as I do and says as I say, Allah Almighty will create of each drop of (his ablution water) an angel that praises Him and holds Him as Holy while magnifying Him, and Allah will write down the rewards for so doing to such an individual up to the Day of Judgment.”
Moreover, it is highly recommended to recite the Surat al-Qadr (Chapter 97 of the Holy Qur’an) three times so you may receive rewards from the Almighty equivalent to what is received by the one who spoke to Allah (prophet Moses), the one who was anointed (prophet Jesus Christ), the one who was raised to the highest pinnacle and who is loved the most by Allah (Prophet Muhammed, peace and blessings of Allah with him and his Progeny).
